Why do male soccer players get paid more than female soccer players?

Women soccer players are being discriminated by getting paid less. For example women earn a salary of $3,600 per game while a men’s making $5,000 per game. So the women alleged that the U.S. soccer federation was sexist, hence the reason for the pay disparity. For example women’s world cup is $30 million when men world cup will be $440 million.

Women’s soccer players are not the only ones that don’t get paid as much as men soccer players. Basketball players and female hockey players, are paid less because their respective sports make less. In a 2015 article for The Atlantic, Field Zhukov wrote: “Women’s sports that are identical to men’s sports-soccer and basketball, for example-will never be popular, because men are faster, stronger and more athletic”.

As a person that plays Soccer I think that this is completely unfair because it shouldn’t matter what your gender is,at the end of the day everybody is doing something that they are passionate about.
