“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning.” Frederick Douglass

Have you ever had that one person that you believed deserved to be in the reformers hall of fame? I believe Frederick Douglass deserves to be in the reformers hall way.Frederick Douglass was an effective reformer, because he caused an impact such as showing how wrong slavery is ,he took action by giving speeches ,and identified an issue such as slavery.

First,Fredrick was an effective reformer, because he identified slavery as an issue.Growing up he witnessed slavery abuse as a slave himself,”exposed as a child to slavery,he witnessed a slave child being beaten.”(Bio.com)Also he was born into slavery proving he was a slave.Although his birth was unknown,”The exact year and date ... birth were unknow.”(Bio.com)What this quote also shows how records o f slaves weren't even kept right.By identifing slavery as an issue from a young age,Fedrick dedicated his life to reforming slavery.

Second,Fedrick Douglass took specific actons in an effort to reform slavery. As he became older Frederick had to find it upon himself to become a Anti-slavery lectuer to people more aware ,”His goal was to aware people of the injustice in slavery.”pbs.org.This shows his main reason for for lecturing others. He even escaped slavery twice! He did this just to join abolitionist groups for the sake of others. In conclusion,he took plenty of risky actions in an effort to end slavery, and risked his own life.

Finally,Frederick douglass was an effective reformer because he created an impact among the world.Because of the many lectures he has given to the people of his time. Some of the African-Americans even got to join the U.S army all because of the lectures spoken by the one and only Frederick. And since his actions people have changed.Even after slavery he didnt stop helping others because he moved on to women rights. In conclusion, his goal had not only one impact but many, and created new topics to be looked upon.

In conclusion, he identified an issue ,took specific actions, and had an impact on the people.I believe my reformer would be proud to how far our country has come to change.Although he would be proud i don't think he would be satisfied, because we still have problems as a country. We still have problems with race and segregation.
