A Lie is Like HIV
It's a one time mistake. Usually, it's innocent. Sometimes you don't even see it. You can live with it unaffected for a while, but your defenses weaken, and the lies consume you. They take over, and you become lost in them. People see through you, and suddenly, they don’t look at you the same. You know it’s your fault and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change it. It may have just been one innocent mistake, but you now have to live with the consequences for the rest of your life. You can pretend it’s not there, but it won’t go away. It stays with you forever.
