Letter to the editor
Dear Mr. Smith,
I agree wholeheartedly with your recent article, "Americans Need to Stand Up and Take Action." We have been complacent for far too long- did you know that over 50% of people don't even turn up for the presidential elections? Many citizens don't even know when voting day is! When only 40 percent of people turn up for the presidential elections, clearly our nation is in trouble. When are people going to take a stand and stop idly complaining about the state of the nation, when they don't even take part in something that would give them a say in the matter? If people just took matters into their own hands this way, they would feel enriched and more like they had a say in how our nation is run.
Americans have a responsibility to vote in the elections when they come around every year. Take matters into your own hands, and vote.
Sincerely,
A concerned reader.
