You Can Change the World...
You have probably heard it before, there is hunger in this world. Millions die because they are not able to eat properly in days, many children are undernourished or some are obese but at the end, both suffer from malnutrition. I get you, it might seem repetitive and you might want to do something about it but it seems like you can’t do anything to solve it.
You might think that giving to charity or volunteering might not be a big thing, but it does make a difference. In fact, I can tell you something else that might seem like ''a small act'' yet it has a great effect in helping the world’s poor. Ready… emailing and contacting your Congressional leaders. That’s it! By calling your representatives in support of the Global Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment Act, you would be helping to alleviate world hunger. Yes, you!
Even if you have not reached the voting age, you have the right to have your voice heard. As an intern at The Borgen Project, I can tell you that your emails and calls are tallied up in the congressional office, and even as few as 7 tallies have the power to influence a representative to vote for the bills. Now you have another possible solution that can help reduce malnutrition in the world. So what are you waiting for? Email them, pick up that phone, contact your Congressional leaders and you will be helping millions of malnourished people.
