In the article "Strength to Be Kind", the author states how he/she was afraid of visiting Sadie Ellen, an old woman at a nursing family that the author and her family had to visit every year. The author later learned the woman had schizophrenia, a mental disorder that makes it hard for people to distinguish what's real and what's really in their minds. He never realized how great of a woman she was, until after she passed away.
This shows how sometimes, we are too quick to form an opinion on someone before we actually get to know them. There's more to someone than what meet the eye. We fail to see what's underneath a person, and never really understand how special someone can be until they're gone.
IN this case, the author never appreciated Sadie for who she was, but instead shunned her because of something she couldn't control. But it was too late to go back. "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in their moccasins."
