Political Debate over Breakfast
My dad asked me today
who he and my mom
should vote for.
He barely finished
the question before
I answered,
“Hilary.”
He snorted and said,
“That’s where we
have a problem.”
But, a few minutes later,
as an afterthought,
he conceded,
“I’d vote for Hilary
just so Bill
could get back into
the White House.”
Typical man, huh?
But I said,
“Who else is there?
The Republicans
screwed up this country
and Obama has
no idea how
to fix it.”
He paused,
“There’s John Edwards.”
I turned away
to hide my smile.
Hilary is more of a man
than John Edwards.
