Neko Luigi Plush
On Saturday, the 4th of February, I went to my friend’s quinceanera. The quince was held in a function room at Dave and Busters and it wasn't a very big party. As I was playing games, I noticed that there was a luigi plush and it was in a cat onesie in the prizes! I was shocked, so many of my favorite things in one plush. Luigi, cats, the color green, and it looked so hilarious. I knew immediately that I had to have it. I could not see the price but I still began to earn as many points as I could. I set out to play all the games that interested me. I then got sidetracked as I could not find my friend who was the birthday girl. I left back to the function room and hours passed by as I had fun with my friends. My mom saw that it was 10 p.m. and told me it was time to leave so I said my goodbyes to the remaining people. I headed out and saw my siblings in the prizes store so I headed over to them and saw the price for the luigi plush. It was 3,900 tickets. I felt despaired and checked my card for the amount of tickets I had. Not nearly enough. Thankfully we had several other cards and I began checking all the other amounts of tickets. They were not enough. I began playing easy games to increase the tickets in the cards and I only managed to raise them to a little bit higher than 2,000. My older sister said to stop and to choose a prize. I demanded to continue, but my mother stepped in and told me that I already have lots of plushies at home and to choose something quickly so that we could go home. I reluctantly and defeatedly agreed and followed through with what they said and chose a pair of headphones after careful consideration. My heart was shattered because I’ve never had a plushie that hasn't been shared with my siblings. Though I’ve been given some by my friends, my little sister always sullied them by stealing them and playing with them like they were hers. I was hoping for a plushie that she would never get because it looked ugly but really funny to me and she would never look its way since she never plays with her massive beanie boo. There would be nothing else I have wanted as badly as that, as I have never needed to impress someone, grab my parents’ love and affection, nor needed to win a competition or sport because those had only been for a moment, a simple thought and feeling lost in the storm of my mind. But seeing the cute cat ears and silly face has ingrained itself into my memory, the feeling like never before has remained in my thoughts. In the end I did not get the cat luigi plush, but I do hope that this year for my birthday, I will either get the flying squirrel luigi plush or the cat neko luigi plush for I have never felt a want never so strong in my life before. The fact I had to win my sport was so I would not face disappointment and to get good grades was only so that my parents would not yell at me for another semester’s finalized grade. But this, this not so very small, ugly and funny looking plush gave me the strongest feeling of actually putting lots of work to get it.

This is a piece I wrote for class except I reread the instructions and had to start over. This is the one I did not submit.
