With Ross Perot changing his mind about running for president so often, I got to thinking. Could you imagine what happened every time he visited his parents for dinner?

"Ross, honey, would you like a nice piece of apple pie for dessert?"

"Why, yes, Mama, that'd be mighty fine."

"Well, here you go, son."

"On second thought, I don't want the pie. Too many calories, and it's mighty hard on my tum-tum."

"Are you sure, honey?"

"Well, Mom, if you insist, I guess I'll have just a little piece."

"That's my boy."

"Wait, Mama, I can't. I just don't feel right about eating the pie."

His poor mother must have had huge amounts of patience. Unfortunately it appears some Americans also had a lot of patience with Mr. Perot. Why he abused it is anyone's guess. Well, at least he was not elected President. We can all breathe a big sigh of relief. n
