A Back To Basic Values Congress MAG
November the eighth: the American people voiced their support of a "so-called" back to basic values Congress. I pose this question: "Will the voters get what they believed they were voting for?"
A Congress that pledges to rearrange session time so that they can spend more time with their families is the same Congress that is sending frightful messages to non-traditional Americans.
A welfare reform agenda which excludes all benefits to unmarried teen mothers, a zero day waiting period for a welfare recipient to find a new job. When Sam Donaldson asked Newt Gingrich, the new Speaker of the House, "What about the children?" Newt had only to point out the fact that there was no welfare system in the pre-Depression era. He also proposes to disband a welfare system that was 60 years in the making in 100 days.
If these are truly "back to basic values," I question America's values. ?
