Do you believe in a perfect world? We read three short stories about have a “perfect world”. There is no such a thing as a perfect world. We read stories about people believe that the world is perfect. We all can believe in a perfect world or if you think you are perfect.

In the Harrison Bergeron there are many examples of the world’s not perfect.

And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear. He was required by law to wear it at all times. If the world was perfect why would they need all of these handicaps. They are showing that the world is not perfect. He can’t think for himself because the transmitter goes off every 20 seconds and scatters his thoughts. My next evidence is They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. This is a perfect example of a utopia because people think it is a good way to live

In Ten with a Flag there are many examples of nobody’s pefect.

We didn’t. We allowed you to make your decision.” “And you made it.” This is citizens conform to uniform expectations because they can’t make their own decision because if they did they would get human services would come and take them. My other reason is Central in control. This is corporate control because they are saying that central is in control. They are saying that because central has control of everything they can do. They can’t drive because central drives for them.

In The Vault there are so many examples of rebellions here are so of them. “Lydia, it’s off, and it stays off. And the whole damn house dies as of here and now. The more I see of the mess we’ve put ourselves in, the more it sickens me. We’ve been thinking of our machine assisted selves for too long. My God, how we need a breath of honest air!” And he marched about the house turning off the voice clocks, the stoves, the heaters, the shoe cleaners, the body washer, the massager, and every other machine he could put his hand to. George turns the house off in order to escape the issues the technology has caused. Wants to be a “real” family. My last evidence is One of the original uses of these rooms was so that we could study the patterns left on the walls by the child’s mind. We could study them whenever we wanted to, and help the child. In this case, however, the room has become a means of creating destructive thoughts, instead of helping to make them go away.” They (psychologists) can see what the kids are thinking and study their minds

We talked about how the world’s not perfect in Harrison Bergeron. There was many examples about the world’s not perfect. In Ten With a Flag there are many examples of saying nobody’s perfect. Finally we talked about The Vault. There are many examples of people being rebellions. There are many examples in these short stories about people not being perfect and how the world is not perfect.
