We went to the game thinking that we were going to win this game. It's the third game of the season. Our record so far is 1-1 won one lost one. We have been training for this game for so long. Their team was huge so was the crowd there were the most people I’ve seen at a game before. Their field was turf and nice but we got this we are going to win the game.

We were stretching running our pre-game drills there going great. All of our passes were getting to each other and our shots are going in. We do our two-on-three we’re shooting the ball our goalie is great blocking them and making sure the ball doesn't go in. It was my turn and my teammate managed to get the ball in. The whistle blows the ref yells out captions Jack and Riley go and do the coin flip the other team starts with the ball for the first half.

The whistle blows and the first half starts they pass the ball back they keep passing and get past us. They were in the box, they shoot and score. We have the ball now we got this we pass it they take the ball from us they shoot and score again. We need to pass better. We get the ball again all the way up the field we shoot and miss. It's a goal kick now we have them locked down, we get the ball again and then they steal it from us. We're behind chasing after them trying to stop before they can shoot at the goal. It starts telling us how much better they are than us. We were probably not going to win, why try.

The horn blows that is the first half we look up at the scoreboard it says 0-8 were down that bad at half. We get back to the bench and the coach tells us how we still have this and keep trying. Cameron and Luke keep going so why shouldn't we were a team and need to keep trying. They're not any better than us and we can do so much better than we are doing right now. Even though we're all exhausted and tired because no matter how hard we try they keep beating us but we have to try. We're all downing water like it’s the last drop we will ever get. We're getting prepared to go back on the field and see how we can do.

The second half we started with the ball were doing better; they were tired as well. Once we were both tired there were elbows flying and kicking happening. The refs don't see it’s like all sports. It's still the start they have not scored yet this half. Time seems to start to slow once they score again it's like the game will never end. There is a corner and their team gets the ball again. The whistle blows and a red card goes up looking around to figure out what happened. Neli, our teammate, had just gotten a red card. He walks off the field not happy thinking it's unfair. Now ten vs eleven and our best defender off the field. We're moving slow and tired, the passes are getting worse and we're falling behind as the score gap widens. We kept having to tell ourselves don’t stop keep going we can still try our best. The countdown started ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one the horn blows. We look at the scoreboard it reads 16-0 we lost.

We all went into the game thinking that we were going to win. But then I realized when losing that you don’t stop keep going even if it’s hard. It is not only about winning or losing the game. We learned to try as much as we can and keep going even when it becomes hard and start losing you can still get something out of it.
