Never Give Up
Learning something new can be a frightening experience. One of the most difficult thing I had to overcome as a kid was learning to ride a bike. I was always scared of falling and busting my head open so I would only use training wheels, I never thought I was ever going to learn of succeed. Until one day my elder brother decided to help me learn to ride a bike.
It was sometime in September 2009. At that time, I was in first grade, I was also the only kid in my class that didn’t know how to ride a bike. I was urged to learn how to ride a bike but I was also to scared. Until one day I decide it was time to take off the training wheels. My elder brother than got the wrench and took off the training wheels.
When I saw my brother take of the training wheels I knew I was not going to see those wheels again. It was my first time riding my bike without the training wheels. I was scared when I got on the bike and started pedaling I lost my balance, and the worst thing that could happen happened, I fell off my bike. Falling on the concrete felt like a bird losing its wings, unable to fly, I was scared of getting back on that bike with the fear of falling.
I did not use the bike again that day. The following day I was still scared of getting on but I had to get over my fear. So I got on my bike, but this time my brother gave me a push and I got farther I started to lose my balance but this time I use my feet to keep me from falling and hurting myself like last time. I tried and tried and never gave up. My brother was a big help to me telling me to not give up and to keep my balance.
Days later and more practice I kept getting better. Although sometimes I would lose my balance I would try not to fall. A week later I was a fluent bike rider. I would no longer lose my balance and I wasn’t scared of riding a bike anymore. It was an unforgettable memory of how I learned to ride a bike. Although I did fall I stood up again and didn’t give up. With a bit of practice and perseverance I learned how to ride a bike and that anything is possible if you don’t give up and maintain a positive mind that you will achieve a goal.
In conclusion, I learned how to ride a bike with the help of my brother. I learned not only how to ride a bike but also a very important thing, to never give up. With a positive mind that you will achieve a goal and some perseverance anything is possible even if you fall lots of time never fear to stand again and you will succeed.
