In Unexpected Twist
There are times when I think to myself what it would be like if I really knew my mom. She walked out on me at the age of seven. I was in the hospital with a kidney problem. She came to see me but after she left the hospital on the first day she never came back.
I've always wanted a relationship with her, but I didn't know what would happen once I got one. My curiosity over came reality. I finally struck the nerve to text my mom. I never thought that I would find a way to contact her. So i thought to myself, "What is one place you can find anyone you were looking for? Facebook."
I searched her name and tried to find her and I finally did. I scrolled through her profile first so I could get a feel of what she liked. I didn't really want to text her when I found her profile. There was this feeling inside of me that knew it wouldn'y be a great idea. Once again, my curiosity overcame everything else welling up inside me.
The very first message I sent her was congratulating her on her recent marriage. I, then, turned off my phone because I was scared she would actually text me back. A few hours later I cut my phone back on. There were three messages from her. The first one saying thank you for congratulating her and the second one saying she has been watching me grow up since she left.
The third message told me that she has missed me dearly and wanted to start a relationship with her daughter again. I didn't know how to reply so I left it alone for a while so I could gather my thoughts. Several days went by and we texted day in and day out. The funny thing was she was the only person that really knew we were texting.
Two weeks went by and my dad found out. He wasn't the happiest person at the time. He wasn't really mad either he was just upset. So I thought.....
