SMILE
When I help people, it makes me SMILE. Doing things for other people not only helps them, but it helps you. HELPING is something that everyone needs to do. If you are rich, poor, young, or old volunteering CAN HEAL the heart. Making someone’s day better is worth more than millions of dollars. The person you helped may not know you did, but knowing you did something that wasn’t revolved around YOU and YOUR needs is something truly amazing. You can make a LIFE better just by smiling at the girl sitting on the bench alone. Go over to her and say “hi”. You may have just saved a life. A life that then CAN go out and talk to others. This is a continuing circle that will help people all around the world encourage themselves to BE BETTER.
I do as much as I can for the community! I believe that one person can make a difference in this world- big and small. Once, when working at Broadway Buddies, a theatre program for people of all ages that have disabilities, I made someone's day better which made my life more worthwhile. I was a helper this year and every day after rehearsal I went home with A SMILE on my face! I think that working with other people, especially those different than you, is very important. The next rehearsal we had I brought my little buddy a stuffed animal from one of hIS favorite T.V. shows. The look on his face was something that could not be described. The pure joy shone through. I know that I sometimes don’t understand him and he can’t understand some of the words I say, but a smile goes through every language; every person and animal in the world feels better when they see that universal sign of LOVE.
