It was a regular Sunday like any other for my family and I. We woke up, made breakfast and, went to mass. It’s always a struggle to remain focused during mass. After mass we shook the father’s hand and were on our way. As we drove along the lonely Sunday morning hwy I saw  a sign it read: “Huskies for sale.”  At that moment, I knew that would be the best or most disappointing day of my life.

I exclaimed! “Mom, please pull over.”  As she pulled in I saw him. His light blue eyes ,and thick white and black coat captured my eye he was amazing.  The puppy that I dreamed about having one day was right in front of me. I had to have him! Huskies are a one of a kind dog, in my opinion, their grace, and beautiful coat make the best breed of dog there could be. I jumped out and picked him up. The owner gave his price. As I started to look desperately toward my mom she shook her head yes! What a relief. I thought she would say no. I jumped up and down from the excitement. Finally, the puppy that I wanted for such a long time would be mine. Before my mom paid the owner he explained that huskies are an extraordinary kind of dog and, this dog was a special, kind in particular, he was a Siberian Husky.  This gave, me even more, joy! I was going to be the owner of one of the most awesome dogs out there.

On our way home I could not wait to show him his new home. When we arrived it was unbelievable we clicked instantly.  We played for such a long time. I brought him inside for a bath. He started crying, this worried me but then I knew he was hungry. We went to the local pet store and got him puppy chow. While we were there I decided to get him some toys, a brush and, treats. We made our way to the register to check out. The cashier played with him and asked me his name. I paused and thought how could that slip my mind. I had to think of a name and fast. Rocky that is his name. As we drove home he slept in the passenger seat and I felt him near and dear to my heart I felt like we had something special. He was going to be my best friend my running partner and my protector. The next day I had to go to school. I did not want to leave him alone. It was like dropping your child off on the first day of school. All day I could only think of him and wonder if he was ok. When I arrived home I quickly went to check on him. Luckily he was happy to see me.

As the days went on we grew more and more in unity together. Now Rocky is not a puppy anymore he is a big, strong, intelligent Husky. He loves to go running after school with me he does not like other dogs. I believe he gets jealous. Rocky and I have a very good relationship and he loves to hunt rabbits with my brother. The day I got Rocky was one of the best days of my life,+ and I will never forget that day.
