The Disaster
Walking down the sidewalk, BOOM! I would have never thought this would happen. As I was getting up blood gushing out of my knee my whole leg getting numb. “ how did you slip in that water!” said Nadia. “ I honestly don’t even know. Walking back to nadia's’ house was such a struggle because it just hurt to walk on. When we arrived back a her house Nadia told me to go clean my cut out with a damp washrag.
Of course that day I felt fine after a couple hours,we went to the park with a couple friends thinking everything was fine until I slipped in mud and got it even more dirty then it was, not to mention cutting it open more. After that it felt as if my leg was broken into pieces.
The next day I went home. After a while getting back to my house, I started feeling sick so my mom thought I had a cold or something. But the next day I had a temperature of 101.7 and I could not control my shaking and I had two sweatshirts on and a really thick blanket. Of course my mom wasn’t home at the time, she was at my brothers baseball tournament,so I called her and she set up a doctor’s appointment.
Later that day, around three in the afternoon, my mom took me to the doctor’s to see what was wrong.
By the time we got there I was on the verge of having one of my anxiety attacks. I could tell because my hands and feet were frozen shut. After waiting fifteen minutes which felt like a year, they finally called me back.
I had everything done - they gave me 3 IV’s and the results that came back said that I started out with staph infection and then it turned into blood poisoning. Staph Infection is multiple things you can get it if you have a cut and you get some bacteria in it and don’t clean it for 12 hours.
The nurse told me I had to stay the night in the hospital,I was not looking forward to that because I didn’t have my phone with me at all so I really had nothing to do there...I also had a TV but all I did was watch movies. My step dad came to visit me,so my mom told him to bring my phone,I had so many text and notifications on all my social media.
The next day in the hospital I was feeling better so they let me go home around noon they sent a perscription home with me,so we had to go to meijer and pick it up. I had to take three pills every four hours in a day so I took nine pills in one day for two weeks. By the time of the two weeks being over my knee was healing up and I felt great.
