Street Life Project
My name is Sarah I live in the Palm Desert, California area. I'm in 8th grade. What I do to help my community is I go out every Tuesday night and feed the homeless. I like to help them because it makes them feel better, like someone cares, and it makes me feel better too. Most of the homeless are really nice and sweet and they truly appreciate what we do for them.
I have been doing this for a year and since that time we have gotten about 8 people off the streets. David is one of the people we got off the street, he is really nice and caring and I think that it is really cool that he come and helps every week too. When david comes out I think of it like he is donating his time back to the people that helped him.
There is a lady named Marge that has five dogs and she has been on the streets for eight months. Well just last night we got her a trailer with two beds, one for her and one for her dogs, and a closet full of close. She loved it so much and was even crying. Its times like that, that make me proud to help and be apart of make a difference in peoples lives.
