True Friends

Sometimes I wonder what friendship truly means. In this case, it means being able to run for a ball, over and over again.

One time on a sunny day, my dad brought our dog, Rebecca, and me outside because we were going to play fetch with her. She was the only one who would go after the ball and bring it back. She was an average sized black lab and extremely playful. We were bringing the dogs out that day one by one to spend some quality time with them.

Whenever my dad threw the ball, Rebecca would race after it and return oncedhe had found it. Each time she came back my dad simply said, “Drop it,” and then sent her to retrieve it again.

We played for an hour before she got tired and decided to sit down. After that, we went inside and reseted for a while.

Even though my memories of her have begun to fade, I know that, in my heart, she will be there for me and live forever , then I shall look back to that day and think to myself, it’s not every day that you meet a friend that will last an eternity.

This might not be entirely true, I don't entirely remember that day.
