When booking a trip to go to Disneyland, there are a lot of things you have to consider when you are planning. Flights and hotels, a rental car or a shuttle, passes to get into both Disneyland and California Adventure, money for food, money for souvenirs, etc. Now, I’ve experienced Disneyland many times in my short lifetime, but there are a few things that nobody really ever thinks about, that would make your trip a lot better, and less complicated; starting off with the traveling.

Depending on where you live, you may drive, or fly. If you fly, there are a lot of things to look at besides the ticket price! The best days to fly are Wednesdays. They just usually are less busy, and a little bit cheaper. Other cheap days to fly are Tuesdays, and Saturdays! Fridays and Sundays are more expensive days to fly, because it’s so busy. Another thing to look at is the time of the flight. Most people wouldn’t prefer to have a really early flight, but in this case early flights are cheaper and better because the earlier you fly during the day means the possibility that you could spend a while at Disneyland that same day! Usually the first flight of the day is the cheapest. Also, when you buy your tickets is a huge factor too! They usually are at its cheapest at about 6 weeks before the day you fly out!

The next thing you have to look at is the hotels! Most hotel websites near Disneyland, say they are “in walking distance” but you have to be very careful on trusting that! Walking distance could be up to 2 or 3 miles away! Always google search the hotel’s address on Google Maps, so you can see how far you would have to walk to get there! I would recommend the Best Western Inn & Mini Suites! It is literally right across the street from the entrance of Disneyland Parks, and it they have a nice continental breakfast, which is good because meals in the parks are very expensive, so you’ll save money. The fact that it is so close is super beneficial! If you have young kids with you on the trip, then you can take breaks in the middle of the day not to wear them out too much!

And for the most important thing! The Disneyland passes! You will want to buy the hopper passes which allows you in both Disneyland, and California Adventure! They are both very similar, but California Adventure is more the Disney Pixar movies, and stuff like that, whereas Disneyland is more of the Disney characters such as the princesses, and mickey mouse, and all of those characters! You’ll want to find deals! Sometimes they have deals where you can buy one 4 day hopper pass for around $200! I would recommend buying your tickets online! Otherwise, you have to wait in a long line to buy them. If you have younger kids, I would recommend going for a longer time, like maybe 6 days. For one, kids tickets are cheaper, so it wouldn’t cost as much, and its more magical for younger kids, so they would like that a lot more as well!

While at Disneyland, prepare yourself for all weather to prevent having to go back and forth to the hotel! I would wear shorts depending on when you go, tennis shoes, or comfortable walking shoes, a tee shirt, and a sweatshirt! Do not wear flip flops no matter what! Your feet will hurt so badly! I would also recommend going to the park at the beginning of the day! Opening time would be the best! I would also recommend wearing clothes with pockets, and try not to keep a huge bag with you while at the park, because that could get annoying trying to take it with you everywhere! The rides are the most memorable part at Disneyland! If it is your first time going, I recommend going on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean and Autopia! If you are really into Disney characters and movies, I would go on the following; Alice and Wonderland, Dumbo, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s flight, Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, Snow White’s Adventures, and Storybook Land! If you prefer bigger rides, more fast rides, Both Disneyland, and California Adventure have a few! I would recommend the following; California Screamin’, and the Tower of Terror. Those both are from California Adventure! If there is a ride you want to go on, but there is a long line, there are these “fast pass” booths that you can buy a fast pass! Fast passes have a time frame, and it allows you to go in a different line that is quicker, as long as you use it in that time frame!

As far as meals go, I would highly suggest staying at a hotel right across the street with a continental breakfast, cheaper is better! Meals in Disneyland tend to be a bit expensive, and what I have found out is that if you eat there for lunch, it is a little cheaper! And a great idea, would be to go to Disneyland in the morning, stay there till late afternoon, like 3:30-ish then go rest at the hotel! And before you go back for the day, stop at a nice cheap place for dinner! Outside the park they have a McDonalds, Ihop, Denny’s, Captain Kidd’s, and places like that for much cheaper price! You would be amazed how much money you save eating outside the park!

A fun memory for kids especially, would be an autograph book! This allows them to get their picture taken with their favorite Disney characters, and have a signature next to the picture! Sometimes it can be hard to find your favorite characters! Especially the princesses and the main Disney characters! So I would get the Disney app, and you can see how long the wait is, and where they are located at! I would also recommend buying a souvenir, and buying something such as mickey ears is perfect! Some may argue and say “why would you buy those when you can only wear them at Disneyland?” but every time you go you can wear them, and it just makes the trip experience more fun seeing everybody in Disney clothing!
