Morning Commute
It’s cold, I hear nothing but my thoughts and the occasional cough from another kid. it is still dark outside and the world is silent. I stare at the moon as it slowly hides its self behind the tree line. I try to fall asleep but every time I get comfortable in my seat we hit another bump in the road and my head pinballs off of the bus window. I’m tired, we all are and no one wants to be awake at 6:15 in the morning. The morning commute is terrible. It’s like we are going down a road full of speed bumps. The pot holes cover the road like a bad case of acne and the bus never fails to hit them. The sun awakens and cautiously peaks the tree line. Immediately it’s like a giant spot light aimed directly at your face. I finally doze off just to awake moments later to realize that we are at the school. I sluggishly depart the bus and make my way in the building.
