First Time Deer Hunting
One day I took my little brothers Jaiden and Tyler out deer hunting. We all set in a blind along side the woods. While waiting I was starting to get hungry but none of us had brought an goods with us. After a while we saw a few does come along, then about 20 minutes later a little buck came out of the woods following another little doe. Jaiden and Tyler were so excited cause this was there first time every getting to go deer hunting, but I was hungry and was still thinking about those warm bisects and gravy we had ate earlier this morning.
After about another hour or so setting there we were all starting to get real tired. I was starting to fall asleep when all the sudden Jaiden yelled huge deer. Me almost half asleep didn’t even bother to look because I figured it was just another little buck or doe. Then I decided to take a look and see what was all out there when I seen a monster 200 class buck standing 200 yards out in the bean field. Jaiden wasn’t lying when he said huge deer! I started trying to rattle the buck in closer cause it was Tyler’s turn to shoot and it was his first time every getting to shoot a deer so I wanted it to be in good range. After a little rattling and grunting he started to walk in closer, I could now see he was even bigger then I thought he was. It looked as if he was like a 16 pointer probably 210-220 class buck. That had me start regretting shooting my deer a few nights ago and filling my tag. I had a nice 175 class buck walk in on me a few nights ago at about 100 yards so I took my shot and rolled him. That was my biggest buck I had shot and I was almost shaking out of my pants when I shot it, so I couldn’t even imagine how Tyler was felling right about now. I was wishing myself that I would of took Tyler and Jaiden hunting with me a few days ago so that he could of shot the buck I did and then that would give me the chance to shoot this monster. Oh well at least my little brother will be able to go to school and brag to all his friends about how big of a buck he shot over the weekend.
After another 20 minutes or so I started trying to rattle and grunt him in a little closer. I got him about 75 yards from our blind so I told Tyler to get his gun ready on the stand aim and fire his shot. I could see how bad he was shaking when he was getting his gun ready and that kinda scared me, I didn’t want my little brother to miss a shot at this big of a buck. Finally ready Tyler got down on his knees aimed and fired, BOMB! Tyler smoked it right in the heart area, I watched him drop then he got back up and took off down into the woods. Tyler was so excited, this was his very first buck and was a monster wall hanger at that.
After setting there talking for a little bit we all got out of the blind and started packing stuff up. We were going to go ahead and take all the stuff home and give it some time for the buck to lay down and die so that we didn’t keep running him up and having to track him for miles. Once we got home I unpacked the equipment while Tyler ran to tell Dad about the monster buck he had just shoot and how we are going to go look for it soon. This was the most excited I have ever seen Tyler he was like a kid in a candy factory. I got all the equipment finally unpacked and now it was time to see if we could find that big buck or if Tyler had missed him.
Finally it was time to see if we could find this monster buck. We got to where Tyler had shot at him and found blood on the ground so we all knew it was a hit. We started following the blood trail into the woods when we had walked about 50 yards when Jaiden spotted the buck dead in the creek. Tyler took off running to him, the buck was a huge 16 pointer probably around 220 class. The buck was so heavy we all had to drag him up, then I showed Tyler and Jaiden how to properly gut a deer and get the cape ready because this one was for sure a wall hanger.
