In Mrs. Deweese's class in the 8th grade she assigned me to write a two page folk tale inspired by the African fables teaching some sort of moral, but mine had to be about more current issues.
When I finally sat down at the computer the night before the due date it all came to me. I would write about my current problems involving building my life around an unsteady foundation. So the fable was about these few fire ants who got in a similar situation, but their result was death. Mine was just depression and hurt. Although it was just more boring homework I realized there was something more to it than that. It was the moral.
I have come a long ways the past year. I am still very hurt and upset, but I have learned so many of these so I thought "boring morals". I have learned more about my relationships. I have became closer with my mother, God, and myself. I might have lost all of my so called best friends, but then again how can I lose something that wasn't ever really there. Now I am more able to discern good from bad people. I don't trust just everyone who comes along, and I for sure don't base my life off of anything that is destine to change. Which can be everything in this world. So find something that you have faith in, because faith will find a way.
