My name
I am named after a prophet. Joseph was sold to Egypt by his jealous brothers and is able to interpret messages he is getting from God. He is able to escape from being a slave and is able to be an important figure in Egypt. He is an example of when anyone listens to God, good things will come my way and even in terrible situations, God can make life so much easier.
Joseph fits me as a name because I believe that I work hard and am able to make the most out of any situation. I do not give up easily and will work to make things better. I think I am similar to Joseph; even though our lives are very different, we share some of the same traits. Trustworthy. Smart. Hardworking. It’s what I think about Joseph. When I was younger, I would sell things on Ebay, and I earned over $1000. I would sell random things that I didn’t use, and my family would give me things to sell that they didn’t want. I spent a lot of time making each thing look good. I had catcher’s gear and I remember my mom telling me,”It looks good, you can stop now.” I didn’t listen, and kept sanding it down to get rid of all the bumps and scrapes on it. Just trying to get as much money as I could. I think they are the only traits we share though, which is why I think I go by Joe.
Sometimes I do things that aren't the best. I think Joe is a better fit for me because I sometimes get lazy. I remember really wanting to skip soccer practice when I was younger just because it was cold outside. I think I was 12, so it was understandable. My parents did not think it was. I refused to go, but it didn’t even matter because it got canceled anyway. My name makes me want to be a better person, and reminds me of traits that I want to have.
