In Beetween Blue
In Between Blue
Our family sinches our dry bags and we are off. The brisk winds, the hot sun, and the cold splashes of the ocean were all we felt that day. The other families were eager to experience what we were. “Don't look at the waves, it will make you feel nauseous” my mom says, yet that's really hard to do when i'm in the ocean, the splash of water gives me a jolt down my spine.
As we venture down the coast, the landscape seamlessly goes from beaches and people to lots of green and vegetation. The rolling hills turn to mountains. The mountains conquering all, except for the mountain goats which make them their own. Waterfalls every once in a while cut through the mountain like a knife.
Although there are beautiful sights, the ocean cuts into the mountain side. The caves are eerie, bare, and dark. The last cave is different. We hear squeaking coming from the ceiling of the cave, the guide turns on the light. The ceiling is lined with bats. We can just feel them looking at us. We disappear into the cave, cut up some pineapple and go swimming.
As we pack up everything and start to head back. We see figures swimming in the ocean, as we approach, fins pop up out of the water. The dolphins are so flamboyant the way they glide through the water. The sun glistens off of them in the deep blue sea. The ocean sustains and creates, The ocean keeps everything at peace.

Me and mom worked on this piece. We wrote about a tour we took of the coastline while in Hawaii.
