Most people think that The Bean is the best thing to visit, but the people that are from here know that there are attractions that are way better to visit. Hello, I am Allie Tully and I am from Chicago. My mom grew up in Dayton, and moved to Illinois right after she got out of college. I was born and raised in Chicago, and lived there for 13 years. I visited almost every part of downtown Chicago. My absolute favorite part of Chicago was winter on Michigan avenue. Michigan Avenue was the Main Street in downtown. Driving on that street felt like a Christmas movie that never ended. There were lights everywhere, Christmas trees all down the street, and my favorite part was the trumpets on Macys with ribbons, and evergreen. Even when it was not winter, It still was full of joy. There was so much to do, and so many places to go to. I never felt lonely, there were always crowds of people there. The buildings there like the Willis Tower, and the Water Tower were so creative, and amazing. I lived very close to downtown, and went there every day. I always take the bus, because there is no parking space on the streets. My bus number was 110. It was one of my favorite numbers because that was the bus I always took. Sometimes I biked there which took not that long, but was kind of scary because of how crowded it was down there. My bus passed by the Michigan lake that I loved seeing in the summer. It was very cold but I loved going there, because the sand was very hot. My favorite thing to do on the Michigan lake was look for sea glass. I collected a bucket of it, and made a picture out of it. Another place I like going is Navy Pier. The activities and amusements there are so enjoyable, and cheerful. The ferris Wheel was my favorite. When i went with my mom on it, she started freaking out since she’s claustrophobic, and she screamed the whole way up, and the whole way down.   I have so many memories and photos of Chicago, that I remember it backwards and forwards. If I didn’t grow up in Chicago, I would never have a more happy and amazing childhood.

I wrote this story because I wanted to share how my 13 years of growing up in Chicago have been amazing, and a blast. I don’t know how my childhood would be without living in the city, and I want people to a perspective on how the city is different than a normal town.
