The Office

This is not about a sitcom. This is the story of a wood urn. It's not decorative, it's not just an empty jar. It has a life in it… in a way. It sat in the same spot for a while but that doesnt matter, what matters is why it is there. 2005 is when it was in the final spot… in an office, in a house , in a small town, with a wife and a daughter.

While family comes and goes saying hi and goodbye and other things. Everyday is different, some days are highs, some are low, the wife and daughter always remembering. Not everyone knows which can be good, sympathy is a harsh welcome as the topic is brought up. The wife tries to push through but struggles some days more than others, the daughter knows when the days are rough and tries to be there but being pushed away sometimes she knows is for the best. Aunts, Uncles and Grandma also feel lost but they know everyone is fighting through together, for some it brings them closer to the wife and daughter, for others it may help to distance, everyone grieves differently but this is especially hard.

Years pass and everyone is starting to accept it but holidays are especially hard, missing one is missing a whole personality that could lighten up a room. Even with everyone accepting, that one day will never be forgotten. Sure it's in the past but it's an event that changed lives. Birthdays will never be the same even with one person gone no one will ever be the same. Everyone was happy and they are still trying to keep happy but missing one person can change how you look at the world. Try things that are new, new adventures, new foods, even trying for better grades. That’s what the daughter wants to live for everyday. The wife has become cautious and protective, not wanting to push it too hard but also wanting to try new things or go on fun new adventures. There is always a plan but sometimes it’s a plan that can change lives and a plan that really stinks.
