Story of skiing

North cascades 80 miles east of Seattle was the most epic blizzard moisture crystallized into snowflakes. The flakes fell sideways straight down in spirals and sometimes even up! There are spinny fibral stuck to cars signs trees and the ski areas slopes, lift towers, and stands dividing the trails. On the night of February 18 2012 stevens ski area Rv lot a small fire burned down a two-story snow bank that turned into the steven skiing headquarters. Tim wagon who was a 53-year-old living in a cabin nearby stevens pass had skied stevens pass for more than 40 years he knew every little thing. The bizarre 2011-2012 winter dropped more than 40ft of snow on the north cascade which was more than great for steven's pass. It was also supposed to snow the next morning making February one of the deepest days of the season. A group of people dressed in puffy jackets and warm mittens and wooled hats gathered around Tims's fire and just did what some of most skiers do: drink beer and talk about mountains.

Forty-six-old Jack owned a 1971 Vacationeer camper that was attached to the bed of his truck. Jack was a Washington native, and ever since jack was five years old he was already hitting fresh powder and slopes like no tomorrow and he already had multiple skiing jobs around the world. Jack likes to free ski which means precisely what you might be thinking it means the act of skiing, free of racecourses, conventional trails, and anything that smacks of tradition. So basically the opposite of Olympic racing or BMX-esque skiercross races. This movement of “freeskiing” began in the late 80’s having a “skiing design” or “technique” and it had skiers 200 feet in the air jumping off mountains on skis hills slopes and more. This brings us to jack again his heart life and soul was put into free skiing. His nickname was “the Grandfather of freeskiing” he was coaching young kids to freeskiing and that is pretty much why he became a solidified father figure to most. See skiing is far from traditional sports such as basketball, volleyball, and football, it requires technique.

Skiers depend on themselves and like surfers they must work in their own harmony. Serious skiers put their whole lifestyle into skiing they live, wear, think, and talk about the sport almost every day winter and summer just dreaming about it. The American downhill racers who would hit speeds of 80 miles an hour during the 1860s in the Sierra Nevada- were the first humans to go fast and live to tell about it. The sport of skiing cheats gravity and death To those who master runs.
