Alone
“How could someone like me do well in high school?” I ask myself as I walk into my first class. As a newly crowned ninth grader going to a new school, I feel like I am the only one unable to adapt. “Everyone seems to be doing well in high school except for me,” my friend suddenly says. Their words have made me realize that I am not the only one. Knowing others also understand the struggle of adapting to high school feels like a weight being lifted off my chest. I think to myself, “was I ever really alone?”
