Not so happy ending...
Not So Happy Ending…
This is a story of how Jessica's life changed in a matter of 24 hours.
Jessica had always had the perfect life, happy parents and a great family, everyone thought. Friday 2, 2015 Jessica's point of view
I just got home my dad said he would pick me up early to take me to the movies, but I'm now on the bus on the way home mad because my dad didn't pick me up. As I get to my stop I get down and my house is right there. I say bye to the bus driver as I get down and run to my house excited to see my mom and dad. I walk in and something is off. My mom was really serious and my dad was on the couch with his head down as if he was an owl up all night. It's not usually like this. My parents are really bright people. They light up a room like a light bulb when they walk in., always laughing and just happy. I go up to my dad and ask “daddy why didn't you pick me up early we were supposed to go to the movies. Irritated, he said “I couldn't today” I shrugged it off. I was just 9 and didn't think much of it. I knew my parents had been fighting but shrugged it off since I knew they were always joyful and I thought maybe they were just talking. I tend to always blur out anything i dont like from my mind. My mom then came up and said she was making me food. I gladly smiled, food has always made me happy, and mostly when she cooks tacos there tortillas and meat and avocado and her famous green hot sauce. She served me a plate and as soon as i sat down my sister got home from middle school. She said hi to dad and mom was already getting her plate ready for her. My sister sat down and we were talking. Then all of a sudden my dad came and said he was going to go get his tire fixed and mom had to go with him.
It was now 3pm.
I always love accompanying them to places. I excitedly asked if I could go and my dad maddly raised his voice and told me no. It caught me off guard but regarded it and went back to eating. My mom looked sad and told me and my sister she loved us and gave us a big hug. We didn't think much of it since we had such a great connection with my mom she was the best I could go on talking about her for hours to anyone. My parents left and my sister and I just talked until we went to our own rooms. My neighbor has kids and we always play with them so we played with them till it was about 9pm.
My parents still haven't shown up so we thought that was weird but shrugged it off. My neighbor's mom then came and knocked at our door since it was already late. She asked where our parents were since it was late and we were still home alone. Mind you my sister is 14 years old and I'm 9 years old so my parents usually left us home alone about this age. We told our neighbor we didn't know and that we would tell her if anything since she did just live next door. They were wonderful neighbors we could trust so we didn't worry too much. She left and we stayed in the room until slowly me and my sister fell asleep not worrying too much since we thought by the time we woke up our parents would be home.

I woke up confused as to why no one was in bed with me. I had just had a nightmare, I got up and ran to the living room. The living room has a big window which shows the front yard. I ran to see if my dad's car was there already but the driveway was completely empty…
I started panicking, upset. I ran to my sister and told her everything. She tried calling them and no one answered. What was happening? My parents would never do this.
30 missed calls later.
Anxiously my sister calls my mom's brother and other close family that lives nearby. They came right away and called my mom and dad but still no answer. An hour later my mom's brother makes the decision to call the cops. Cops show up and ask us some questions. I'm so uncertain what's happening. My mom's brother takes us to his house since we cant be alone. We ended up falling asleep completely forgetting everything.

What's happening? I'm so confused as we pull up to my house again and see multiple cars. The sun is covered with clouds and the day looks upset. It starts drizzling as we walk inside. My sister and I see a whole bunch of our family crying and hugging. What's happening?.
One of my aunts from Houston Tx was here; she barely ever came unless it was a special occasion. “What was the special occasion?” I thought to myself. She called us into my room where there was more of our family on the floor waiting for us. Fearful of what was going on, I turned around and saw my sister burst into tears. I finally heard the words any kid would fear hearing “Your parents are in a better place”...
It took me a minute. My whole world slowed down; My heart hurt, and it was the worst pain you could imagine from just 6 words…
