The big scare
The Big Scare
As I walk through the big Red and Black top thrill dragster flags. I see the 420-foot roller coaster. It's called top thrill dragster located at cedar point AKA the most fun place in the world. my heart rate starts to skip beats. It’s bouncing like a basketball. I’m starting to sweat. I'm losing my memory for a second. I'm so excited to ride this gigantic roller coaster but at the same time, I'm very nervous. All I'm thinking about is getting a rollback or getting stuck at the top of the world's second tallest roller coaster. That would be awful I think to myself. We keep getting closer and closer. My heart is pounding like a basketball harder and harder, I keep seeing the Green, Yellow, and Red traffic lights go off over and over again. Each time the light goes off we are getting closer and closer. The sweat is running down my body on a hot summer day. I wouldn’t be surprised if I pee my pants. Each time that traffic light goes off I’m getting more and more scared.
Soon enough we are already on the stairs that are leading up to the big red station. With each step, I'm getting closer and closer. I’m getting more and more scared. I hop into the line for the front row. Everyone is making it look so easy. While I'm over here terrified. Then, I am finally about to step into the small green train. I step into the little small green train and then the train pulls up to the Green, Yellow, Red traffic light and we watch the purple train in front of us go up and down the world's 2nd tallest roller coaster. Now I am up. I walk 2 feet forward getting into the train. The employee straps me into the roller coaster. Now there is no turning back. I can't get out of the train now. I’m terrified. I keep thinking about every little thing that could happen when I ride this monster roller coaster. I’m so scared that I don’t even know if I wanna ride this roller coaster anymore.
It feels like everything around me is frozen. It feels like I’m in slow motion. My sweaty palms are as wet as a dog getting out of the bath. I smell the brand new pizza place that they just opened inside that park. The new fresh pizza that just got out of the oven smells so good and fresh. The cheese and the pepperoni, also the sauce I can smell it all. It just smells amazing. Then, I can hear the race car sound they play before they launch me. It sounds like a drag race. It's like I'm in the brand new 2022 Bugatti. Then I hear the brakes release. BOOM! We launch out of the station like a rocket. I’m so scared. I close my eyes. It feels like we are going thousands of miles per hour. The wind feels so good. We keep going faster and faster then we start going up the big hill. On the way up we see Lake Erie. For a split second. It felt like we were at the top for 5 minutes but we weren’t even up there for a second. Then we race down the hill like an angry bull going very fast! We hit the break run and we start to slowly slow down. My hair is all messed up from how fast the ride was. I can still smell the new candy shop, it smells amazing. As I walk off the platform on the hot summer day the breeze hits me. The sweat is dripping off me like I just walked in the rain for hours. I was so excited that I rode the ride and got over one of my biggest fears.
On the three-and-a-half-hour car ride home back to Cincinnati I think to myself how fun that ride was. I will never forget how happy I was when I got off Top Thrill Dragster. The next time that I ride a rollercoaster I will always remember what I had learned after riding Top Thrill Dragster. I learned that They are not scary, they are fun! I was just so excited that I had finally gotten over my fear of roller coasters.
