The Time Has Come
The Time Has Come
Screech! The roller coaster comes to an instant stop. The kids pile out and the seats are suddenly empty. It was my turn to ride the roller coaster and I was scared to death. I then see excited kids pile in and the seats and they fill in like a millisecond. The worker then straps me into the seat and I can feel the polyester seatbelt push into my skin. Then the worker made sure my seatbelt was as tight as it could get so I didn't fall. The smell of cotton candy fills the air as I sit in my seat scared to death. CLICK! Then the roller coaster starts to move and make its incline. My legs were shaking like someone being shocked by a lighting bolt. I could taste the throw up coming up my mouth like a flowing river. I could hear the sound of other kids having the most fun time of their life.
Eventually, the crowded roller coaster makes its way to the top of the hill. The roller coaster felt like it took a million years to get to the top which made me more frightened because I wanted to get off this. I can feel my heart pounding like a drummer playing the drums. My sweat is dripping off my face like a rainstorm as we start to get higher.
The steep hill looked like it was as tall as the Empire State Building. The roller coaster sounded like a chain being dragged on a hard and rough surface. As the roller coaster was getting close to the top and I could feel myself in mid air just sitting there worrying about what was about to happen. I felt like I was on top of the world looking down on everybody. Boom! We then go over the hump and we are now on the ride. The cold wind smacks against my face and it is cold like snow on a snowy day. I could hear my friend screaming and having fun but I was still surprised and frightened by the roller coaster. The fast roller coaster goes side to side and I feel myself starting to sway back and forth. The roller coaster whips side to side like a whip being whipped. Then the roller coaster increases speed and we go over a hill and then another hill.
After that, the first hill came in an instant and it was small but fast. The second hill was the worst. It was tall and it took a lot of speed to get up it. The hills were roaring and you could hear them from a mile away. The colors of the roller coaster were majestic and they could be seen from a mile away. I could feel my stomach go up and down side to side constantly moving. Then we hit another hard turn and then another hill. Then the roller coaster goes upside down and I am hanging like clothes being hung in a closet. I felt like I was going to fall out of my seat. The roller coaster then switched over and I fell back into my seat and the roller coaster continued its journey.
I then suddenly started to like the ride and it was amazing. Then I start screaming and yelling and starting to have fun. I can feel myself start to smile and get excited about this ride. The swift roller coaster then gets even faster and faster. The coaster then hits a loop to loop and the roller coaster goes in circles. Then it comes to an instant stop and the fears are gone and I am not worried anymore. I almost felt like I had flown out of my seat and I was soaring through the air. I then unbuckle my belt and the seats empty and the people up next fill the seats just like I did.
Finally, I have realized that it's good to go out of your comfort zone and try new things. I now go out of my comfort zone all the time and I love trying things that are new. I have now changed my mind about all roller coasters and I love them. I am not scared of them anymore and they are now one of my favorite things to do. Now I have been to kings island many times and I love the roller coasters. I always visit the same roller coaster that my first ride was on and I think about what happened in that 5 minutes that impacted me the most. I will never forget the time when I went on my first roller coaster ride and had to go out of my comfort zone.
