My adoption story
When I was born I had many things going on. Right off the bat I was throwing up all the drugs that were in my system. I had to stay in a certain place for babies who had drugs in their system from their mothers and had to get extra care. While I was there I later in life found out my mom abandoned me in the hospital. This led to me being put in foster care because nobody knew who my dad was, this led to many DNA tests to find my father but we never found out and I still don't know to this day.
While in foster care my later in life adoptive mom was also fostering three of my oldest siblings so i lived with them for a while. While in foster care i had many hospital trips because i was a sick baby, this led up to my mom figuring out i have Hepatitis C which causes cancer later in life. I was also diagnosed with asthma.I also had to be fed a little bit of food every hour or else i would throw everything up.
Around a year later my now adoptive mom and dad adopted me but sadly couldn't adopt my other siblings because other people wanted them. Growing up I still got to hang out with my siblings sometimes but not much.Around a year after i was adopted my little brother was born and my mom and dad got to adopt him.
While being adopted isn’t bad, other kids aren't really used to it so they would make fun of my brother and I for it, but I found two friends who were also adopted and have been friends with them for as long as i can remember and i'm so thankful for them. Although me and my brother don’t really get along as much as i'd hope i'm still glad he's my brother and i'm so happy i got to live with at least one of my siblings.
Being adopted comes with some opportunities like having a cool story to tell about yourself but it also comes with disadvantages like wondering. Sometimes it can be hard just knowing everything that's happened but i wouldn’t change anything because now i have two amazing parents who would do anything for me and love me so much.
Something I hope I can help with is teaching other people that you can adopt! A lot of people can’t have babies so they adopt. And I really hope this touched someone or helped someone.
