June 5th is a day my family will not forget. It was Father’s Day and everything was fine. Bob was in Hawaii with his parents and brother. They got a call about the time they got to the condo. It was from their uncle who called to say that their kid of 5 months had AML leukemia.

“Do we need to come back and meet y’all in Memphis?” David bobs father asked.

Justin replied, “No, not right now. We are still trying to figure things out and get our stuff ready to go to Memphis.”

“ Okay Jax, bob and I will come up there as soon as we get back in town.” David added. Before they got back from Hawaii JJ (JUSTIN JR) and some others in the family went to st. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee. Some of the family followed the ambulance with JJ and his parents. When they got there they took JJ and started running tests on him. They eventually got them in a hospital room. Bob, David, and Jax got back from Hawaii and headed to Memphis. When they got there JJ was just about to start chemo.

This happened when all his vitals are up. Before chemo, they started surgery and put a tube in his heart to get medicines there quicker. After the surgery bob and his bunch went back to Louisiana to see their family back home. After 2 weeks Bob, David, and Jax went back to Memphis to see JJ and the family before he started chemo for the first time. The treatment was unusual they gave him almost 1.5 years’ worth of chemo in 6 months. When bob got to the hospital they were about to start chemo.

The chemo started making him have blisters all over his body. After a few more days Bob, David, and Jax went home. Several weeks pass and bob goes back. JJ has already had a few more rounds of chemo. JJ is in the apartment now. He is doing better. They all go out to eat and ride a riverboat on the Mississippi and before they leave they find these scooters called birds and ride it. In the next week, David and bob go home but soon come back after a call from Justin “The baby is not doing good he is on an air tube in his throat.
Y’all need to come up here he is not doing good at all.” Justin exclaimed. They then come and see the baby having blisters all over him and a tube down his throat also a feeding tube up his nose. The vital computer beating slow like a turtle walking. It was dark as night in the middle of the day. The hospital was ghost-quiet. They waited for hours all cramming on two couches and the floor.

Then in minutes, the sky cleared to a beautiful day and the hospital was louder and the people more energetic. The baby’s vitals came up fast and he soon had his first good report in a while. He was getting better fast his bob, David and Jax went home and didn’t come back for several weeks. They came back once more to hear what the doctor said and the doctor gave a good report. The next day they went home. In the next two weeks, they came home and had news reporters and family all around greeting him home.
