What Makes Me Who I Am
A vice and a virtue or for lack of better words, what makes me who I am. A vice represents the parts of myself that may not be the most commendable, but to back it up is my virtue. As my vice, I chose refusive. I thought this word represented one of my lower qualities well because of how I constantly refuse to take advice from my parents and friends. I could be in a situation where I would have no idea what to do, so I ask either my parents or friends for advice or help. Once I get the answers I needed to hear, I refuse to follow what they told me thinking I can find a better way. By refusing the advice my friends and parents are giving me is detrimental to myself because I am missing out on the lesson the situation is teaching me. I try to strive to be not as refusive once situations likewise arise by taking their advice and putting it into action.
On a positive note, a virtue that I chose for myself was reliable. I am always called the reliable friend in my friend group. My parents and other family members trust me with important tasks that need to be completed. They call on me because they know I will always be able and ready to help. Being reliable does not just mean helping, but even as a friend and being able to listen and talk when they need it. When my best friend was going through a rough time, I was a reliable friend by listening to her and she could always count on me to do the things she needed to be done.
