Finally 18
Hello world. Hey God. Hi mom, dad.
Today, I am officially 18. Yes, the eagerly-anticipated number that brings on savory freedoms and limitations, greater adventures and fresh stories.
Today, I wave goodbye to my childhood and venture into the world of adulthood. The events that have occurred over the past 17 years of my life haven’t been shallow. Little did I know that I would discover endless strength in my mighty Rock, my home and loyal friend, Jesus. Along the way, I have experienced and will always experience the great joy of being an older sister.
Many things will never change. I will continually store faith in the wonders that challenges bring, speak with passion, see the measureless worth of deep conversations, and find myself in the notes of Frederic Chopin. Pebble stones that are labeled ‘yesterday’ remind me that each moment has its purpose. My jar is only slightly filled.
All I can say is that I am ready for the road ahead.
Love, Annie.
