The name Ella, what could possibly come to mind? To my German origins it means feminine, but that’s not all close to true to what it means when it comes to me as a person.

It feels more like it should mean something along the lines of my journey, my path to who I am. A twisted path of hopes and dreams to be better.

My name is the strong rocks that line the path and sit there unshaken by the people that walk on top of them. The ones with the strong cores and the strong outsides. Strengthened to defend and protect.

My name is mountains and valleys the path cuts through. My highs and my lows. In my highs I am the peacefully fallen snow on the top of the mountains. At peace with the world. Pure. In my lows, I am the dirt that has been walked upon. Stirred up. Both are equally beautiful in their own unique ways.

My name is the horizon. Something that people always look into. The future. The horizon is the destination, the place of where you're going on the path. It is where the path brought me to as a person and where I am now.

My name is the roots from trees that weave throughout and underneath the path. I am the first generation with my name. I hope that maybe my name will someday be passed on like the leaves from the tree with my roots.

The path. My name is where I am, where I have walked. It is my past, present, and future. Showing where I have been and where I have yet to go.

My name is many things, making up who I am. It is my origins, my beginning. The places I am, the place I will go. My name is what I want to be, what I am. My name describes me. I am my name.
