Ears Gone Bad
When I first got the brilliant idea of getting my ears pierced, I thought it was going to be a quick and easy painless experience with the gun, but now looking back at it I realize that I could have been well informed before paying for three insanely painful piercings done by a needle.
I remember that day as if it were yesterday. The unforgettable experience started when my sister and mom got home from supposed shopping turns out that wasn’t the only thing they did because they had gotten their second hole pierced. At that moment I felt all sorts of emotions like jealousy and anger because I had already told my mom. “I want to get my second holes and my cartilage pierced.” What is crazy is that I had made that comment just a few days before they had gone to get their ears pierced. So when I saw that my instinct was just telling me to act petty. My mom being my mom felt bad so she offered to take me. After a while of telling me to go, I decided to put my pettiness aside and go. Little did I know she was going to be taking me to a tattoo parlor to get them done instead of the mall like she had gone to get hers done. On the way their, I didn’t feel nervous because I was positive that it was going to be with the gun.
We got there and my mom signed all the necessary papers and paid. Then the lady took us to a room in the back. I sat down in a chair and waited while she prepared everything. The next thing I saw was terrifying because she did not pull out the gun instead it was a long and thick needle. Since I thought it was going to be with the needle my immediate reaction was to not get them done anymore, but there was a tiny little problem the piercings had already been paid.
Luckily my sister was going to get another piercing so she went first. She sat down and a couple of seconds later after putting numbing cream on the ear the lady put the needle. When it was in there she screamed and made awkward facial expressions. Meanwhile, I was laughing but it was a nervous scared laugh because I knew I was going to go through it. Right after it was done I asked her.”Did it hurt?” Her response was ”No, not a lot.”
Then came my turn I sat down that was when my nervous scale went all the way up. The lady then marked the three holes and put the numbing cream. All I was hearing from my sister was “It doesn’t hurt it, doesn't hurt.” So I responded in a really annoyed tone “Well turns out I am not only getting one or two I am getting three piercings and with a needle!” Suddenly the moment came when she put the needle in as soon as it was in it felt like a bunch of little pinches. All I felt like doing was to kick the lady and leave running without getting the other two pierced, but I had to face reality and get them done. The only good thing about the other two was that they weren’t quite as painful as the cartilage. Even though they did ended up looking good I still wanted to go off on my mom and sister for taking me to get them done with a massive needle instead of the gun like they had gotten theirs done. After they were fully done my ears felt burning hot but I did feel extremely proud of myself for not crying
Although my experience of getting my ears pierced didn’t go as planned. It is a day I will never forget because it was full of unexpected emotions, plus I learned t always be well informed about the decisions I make.
