“Yay, were finally here,” someone said from the back of my seat.
But then what caught my attention from talking to Ansley was when I heard the dramatic stop of the bus. I realized at this point we were at the one and only Disney. I was focused on the signs that said Disney, or welcome to Disney. The sight of big mickey hats or oversized princess dresses caught me, and then the voice of Mr. Hickinbotham got my attention, glancing away at the busy park. He did a head count and signaled us to go straight to check in our passes that we had just received. Please, I could tell you all about the most boring part. It was kind of crowded since it was a Thursday, but it wasn’t that bad that you could barely take a step. Checking in our passes felt like hours and hours of torture getting worse by the second. You know, it didn’t take that long, but you know what I’m saying. We took tons of pictures with our grade, my girls, and teachers. To be truthfully honest, I don’t care one bit about the pictures. It was cold, (about 65 degrees), so I was shivering!
Our group, Miya, Ansley, Abigail, Brady, Nick, Luke, Chase, Luke Z, Nico, and Justin all waited impatiently to get on to the ride, space mountain. It was very far, so we had to take a trolley for 2 minutes to get to the magic kindgdom. Finally, after fifteen minutes of figuring out chaperones, we all walked toward the trolley that would lead us to the magic Kingdom. We all got off and stared at each other. It was now 11:00, as I looked on my phone. The smell of freshly cooked popcorn slid past me, and was focused on the colorful rides that were purple and blue which almost looked like the colors of the rainbow.
“Well,” Ansley glazed at her phone, “we’ve got 5 hours to kill.”
Brady looked over and glanced at all of us. “How about we go to space mountain.”
I looked at Brady in disbelief. “But its closed!” I pointed at the sign, as it said, closed for 10 minutes.
“Well then how about we go to the buzz lightyear ride,” Nico stated in a hurried voice.
“Yea,” we all shouted at once, and we found ourselves in the back of a 10-minute line.
I could tell by the look on Miya’s face she was hungry, since she was staring at the churros the people in front of us had. “I’m hungry.”
I could tell Brady agreed with Miya. “Yea, I am too. How about Miya and I get churros while you wait in line for us.”
It was only 11:15 by this time, and I was sure full from a good hardy breakfast. I waited so long, and just like an impatient dog waiting for human food, I stared at my phone just watching the minutes go by. Finally, we got to the first row. Since you had to shoot aliens, you had to pick a partner to sit by you. Ansley and I picked each other right away. We hopped in glee, still wondering why Miya was taking so long to get food, and then the chair we were in was lit up with colorful bright green lasers that hurt your eyes. After that fun, Abigail signaled that space mountain was open.
If you have never been on the one and only space mountain, your missing out on the world, just saying.
We raced over, not knowing where our chaperones were, and took a few pictures in front of the magic kingdom and raced to space mountain.
I was expecting a line since space mountain is so popular, but there were barely any people. Well, as far as I could see.
We all entered as a group, and we walked through the dark hallway, shielding us from any sunlight. We walked about a couple of feet to notice we were not the only ones going on this ride. There were about 300 people, waiting in line.
Wow, this line was super long. We didn’t want to get out because there were soon about 100 people behind us, and it was is such a narrow hallway. Of course, being teens, we took the risk going to space mountain in the middle of the day, and it was the worst decision. The smell of 300 people caught my senses as soon as we moved any feet. It was super hot, and since it was cold outside, it gave my body a wakeup call. With 300 people in such a small hallway, its going to be hot and smelly. I counted on my phone hour by hour, moving only 1 foot per 20 minutes, and it was horrendous. Then, all the sudden, the ride broke, so that was another hour. They fixed it, and after they did, we were so hungry we were going over lunch time. We all wished that uber eats could fly a drone to us and give us food. We were so tired from standing, but we couldn’t sit or lay down.
The worst part of it was that we spent 2 hours waiting on a ride, and there was no turning back. No getting out of line at this point. I literally said a prayer after we were in the front of the line. All the sudden as were about to get on the ride one of the staff said it broke down.
I sighed and tried to not to think about food. I even got nauseous and had a stomachache. “Told you guys it was a bad idea to go on space mountain at 11:30.”
Then the staff closed this ride down for good.
The loud announcement caught my attention, like a loud school bell ringing in the morning.
“Please return to exit one. We are having technical difficulties right now. Everybody in line can get a free fast zone to another line.”

After the announcement said those words, we spent 2 hours waiting and playing charades with our phones which were soon about to die for nothing.
We all complained to the staff. I don’t know how many times but they were super rude about it.
We all decided that we should grab some stuff to eat. The only restaurant that wasn’t busy was a mickey one, which only served chicken nuggets. So unhealthy, but it is better than eating nothing.
The only real time I got to sit down was on the bus and eating. The pain of my legs tingled so much that If I ran a marathon, I’m confident I would die.
I sat down only for 20 minutes and then all my girls and guy friends decided to go to thunder mountain. Within the 10-minute walk, we passed by tons of arcades of mickey and Disney characters. We got there to find that barely anybody was there, and we procced on to the ride. I sat with Ansley, and I could tell you, that was the best day of my life. The twists and turns stunned me, as loud as Nicolas screams that sounded like a dying baby. I don’t know exactly how many times we rode this, maybe around 4 roughly, but It was worth the while. I looked at my phone. We had 3 hours left, so we all agreed to go on thunder mountain in our last ride, and splash mountain next.
We were all prepared to get splashed. I wanted to go in the front, just to be brave with Scarlett and Hailee. As we were drifting to the highest peak of splash mountain, I was shivering with. It was so far down to the ground, and water was quickly rising. I prepared for impact. Our tube went down, with speed, very fast and I closed my eyes. I opened them when we finished. With salt in my eyes, I couldn’t really tell if there was another bump coming.
After going on splash mountain for 2 times, it started getting crowded, so we headed off to a cheesy ride. I forget the name of it, but I was boring. Just little bumps up and down didn’t relish me a bit, it was slow and boring. After this, we had about an hour to kill. As a group, we headed off to thunder mountain, near wanting to return to space mountain. In the middle, Nicolas realized he lost his card so that was a struggle. For the last ride, it was starting to get very dark outside. We figured we wanted to see the magic castle fireworks at 6, so we needed to hurry up. The last ride we had was memoires, and I can picture Luke Z’s screams in my head and how everyone was being so funny that I laughed so hard. The twist and turns treated me well. It was as fast as a cheetah. After the ride, we all headed to the magic castle in glee.
When we got there, we saw the magic castle and tinker bell on a zipline. We all saw frozen and we sang our hearts out to “let it go” or other throwback Disney songs. We all put our hands-on each other’s backs and sang like there was no tomorrow. All my friends screaming let it go so loud that we thought the Tinkerbell on the zipline could hear it. We sang and sang all night, smiles and smiles shared with laughs and jokes. We passed around so many memories.
Still in my brain it’s like I have a memory book in it with all my friends that day. In this memory, it felt different from others. I feel this because if my friends weren’t with me that day, I wouldn’t have had this memory created that night. Truly, my friends made it and that was the best part.
Then, all of us huddled up and sang other Disney songs, and that’s how we made the most epic memorable night. Arm in arm, singling along with colors of blue, pink and purple fireworks and then suddenly they slowly faded away as the night grew older.
