interview with my grandma

I asked my grandma about her life and she told me.

She grew up in a middle class neighborhood. After her dad passed away from a car accident when she was young, she was raised by her mother and ended up moving out at the age of 17. She moved in with my grandpa. They got married and had 5 kids, 4 boys and 1 girl, 2 of them being twins—one of them was my dad.

My grandma told me about all the trips they went on as a family. For example, the time they were going up this mountain and the road was very narrow, but my grandpa was tired so my dad took the wheel and had to finish the drive. They had many adventures as a family but once all my uncles and my aunt moved out, they ended up getting a divorce.

After the divorce, my aunt got sick with brain cancer and was unable to care for her son and herself, so my grandma took her in until the day she passed. I will always think very highly of my grandma knowing how hard it was to watch and take care of her daughter for so long.

My grandma is someone I have always wanted to know more about and I'm glad I got to sit down and actually talk to her about her past. She has inspired me as a person and helped me to become the person I am today.
