When I am having a bad day, I can always count on Mr. Schlitt to cheer me up. He teaches engineering and woods classes at Arrowhead High School of which I am both enrolled in. He keeps me interested in the class by connecting examples with real life applications and always having an amusing attitude.

Mr. Schlitt cares about how successful I am in his classes. He asks me how quizzes/tests were. Then, he asks if I have any questions. He pushes me to keep going on to more difficult courses. He helps me push myself to become the best I can be.

He has asked this school year, “Are you going to do cabinet making next year?” and since I enjoy how he teaches and runs classes, I am now enrolled in that class.

Mr. Schlitt is like a long lost friend. You meet him for the first time and he makes you feel like you have known him for centuries. He understands how his students feel about their successes. When a student performs poorly on a quiz or test, he reminds them that “anyone can come in for test corrections, but remember it is not for the grade, it is for what you learn from the corrections.” This got me to realize that grades are not as important on how they look, but what I learn from my mistakes.

Mr. Schlitt is a father, coach, and a dedicated teacher. He takes time out of his day to assist students by having open lab for woods on Tuesdays after school. He also coaches tennis every day, and gives up his open hours of the school day to aid people who are struggling. I personally have gone in for help and received much more than expected. Each time I saw him, he answered my questions while giving me more ways to understand the problems and solutions.

The classes he teaches intrigue me and inspire me to be interested in school. It is because of him that I enjoy going to engineering and woods class and challenge myself past my normal capabilities.
