John Bauer Jr. is a PGA Professional golf coach, he loves golf and most of all, loves helping people. John can be found on any given day either at his shop in Hartland or at Ironwood Golf course in Sussex. Any place you see John, he is sure to be wearing Under Armour and have a smile on his face.

John Bauer and I started working together a year and a half ago, and he is the best thing that ever happened to my golf game. Before I met John, I struggled to play well on the course even though I looked like a professional on the golf range. But John transformed my game and taught how to believe in myself and how to play great golf on the course.

John Bauer finds ways to describe golf and golf drills in a new and successful way everytime I see him. He explains how skipping a stone, and throwing a football can help your golf game. His drills create a competitive and successful practice environment. Although many coaches have good drills and teaching styles, the difference between John Bauer and the other coaches, is that he makes a connection--a connection where he is more like a friend than a coach. As a friend, John is always ready for a putting competition, a friendly game of basketball or discussing his favorite quotes from “The Office.” It is these sort of distractions that not only make a connection, but also make learning and getting work done so much easier.  He finds ways to bond with all of his students, because he wants to see them all improve and reach their full potential.

John Bauer doesn't receive the credit he deserves. He hasn't won coach of the year in Wisconsin and he has never been recognized for the long hours he spends coaching his students. John doesn't have to stay late or fit me in his schedule whenever I need help; but John does and he does it because he cares and is passionate about all his athletes.

I have John Bauer to thank for all the success in my golf game. I could never be where I am today without him.
