Mr. Irwin

Mr. Irwin was loved by each and every student at school, he was funny, caring, and most of all would help you with any problem you bring to him. He loved his job and his students and he really made you feel like he wanted to be at school with you.

I met him my 8th grade year but did not really know him or talk to him until freshman year when he was my “SALT” leader (SALT was a time every Tuesday in the morning where a small group of guys in your grade each had a teacher and you would talk about different life and school things and to go over anything important that we did not talk about in class necessarily).

He had a nice office that had windows that looked outside on the top floor. His office was one of the most popular places in school as everyone loved him and his sense of humor and ability to lighten the mood of a school day. He would also be able to be serious though, I remember he would find me after school some days and just would ask to walk around the school to chat and make sure everything was going ok and was alright. He always went above and beyond what he had to by going to students and personally checking up on them. If you ever had any problem, school or not, you could just walk into his office and he would listen.

I think Mr. Irwin should be the embodiment of a “perfect” teacher. He really made my beginning experience of high school so much easier and helped me through a lot. I think that it shows how good of a man and how good of a leader he was to have a whole student body enjoy a teacher that much. For everyone that knew him they would all agree that he is much more than just a teacher, coach, or guidance counselor, but also a good friend.
