And She Was MAG
Memories of her are strong
I'll never forget her face
She was sweet
kind
crazy.
I used to go visit her
Every single day
She sang
sat
read.
Locked in her ten-foot square
She was exiled from the world
She was lonely
hungry
sad.
She's been crazy since I was born
She used to be the life of the party
She was funny
happy
friendly.
Her husband left her one afternoon
he never came home from work
She was worried
horrified
mad.
She left her house at 8: 15
To go find her man
She was determined
focused
stressed.
Grandma wandered for a month
We thought she fell off the earth
She was lost
tired
insane.
They put her in a room
With a chair and some books
She was confused
breathless
angry.
She died when I was ten
That was the best thing for her
She was free
content
alive.
