A Best Friend for Life
We all have a best friend. There’s always that one specific person in your life who you know came into your life for a reason and is never going to leave. That one person makes a special impact on you and becomes irreplaceable. Maybe you’ve known this friend your entire life, or maybe you’ve only known them for two years. Either way, they still hold the title of your best friend. Best friends are the friends that mean the world to you. My best friend is Aspen.
Aspen and I became friends two and a half years ago in sixth grade. We had language arts together and sat next to each other at lunch. When we sat next to each other in class, we eventually had to be separated because we talked too much. We would talk about everything. One subject would lead to another and then another. We also never grew tired of each other, and always wanted to be together. In January of sixth grade, I had a party with some of my closest friends. Aspen of course was there as well as another girl I had met that year named Katelin. The three of us were and are still really good friends and sometime after the party, got together to hang out at Aspen’s house just for fun. We watched movies together, had lunch, and laughed so hard our stomachs hurt.
In seventh grade when school started, I was sad to find out I didn’t have any classes with my bestie. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to see her because of our new schedules. Thankfully on some occasions I still saw her in the hallways. Even though I didn’t get to see her very often at school, I was able to see her outside of school. After school ended, we already had plans for the summer. Aspen, my other best friend Zoe, and I all went to Camp Hope together in Dahlonega, Georgia. It was sleepaway camp so the three of us were together for a whole week. We were and are inseparable when we’re together. There have been many times when the three of us would hang out together. We were all supposed to go to camp again this summer but for some reason it’s not going to work out for Zoe. Therefore, this year it’s just going to be me and Aspen.
We’re now in eighth grade and it is sadly coming to an end with only about three weeks of school left. Aspen and I got to see each other more this year even though we didn’t get the chance to have any classes together. We spent so much time together this past year getting to know each other better, that there are too many memories to count. Although, I remember each and every one. I remember all of our Chickfila dates, another party I had in January, and so much more.
Aspen, you and I have been through so much together over the years. Making memories with you is so much fun. You can always make me laugh when I’m in the worst mood and I know I do the same for you. Recently you have been the person I rant on and the person I go to when I need a shoulder to cry on. When I’m feeling down, you cheer me up. When I need a prayer sent, you send it for me. You have a very special place in my heart and I know you will never be replaced. I love you so much. You don’t even know. Thanks for being the peanut butter to my jelly, the macaroni to my cheese, and the rainbow to my skittles. Best friends are the friends that mean the world to you and I’m so glad to call you that. I don’t know where I would be without you, and I love you.
