My future is uncertain for me, but I must develop a career plan that will provide finical support and personal fulfillment over the course of my personal life. When I was younger, I would always change my career goals. Now that I’m older, I believe that the medical field is the best choice for me. I’m looking forward into studying internal medicine as a physician. I’ve always been interested in medicine, and there will always be jobs available. Many people think that becoming a doctor is difficult. Others believe that becoming a physician takes many years and is expensive. Most people realize that being a physician is difficult yet rewarding. All these people are correct. Becoming a physician is a long, tough, and expensive process that can only be accomplished with great dedication.

Being a physician takes a lot of responsibility and effort. The main duty of being a physician is to do checkups and record their health. Take patients medical history and update their charts and information to show, as well. They order tests for nurses or other health care staff to do. As physicians you are required to review test results and to identify any abnormal findings. They must recommend and design a plan of treatment. If I become a physician, I will help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene. Nevertheless, examine patient’s medical history and prescribe them the medication.

There are requirements in order to be a physician. First of all you must be aware of the time commitment involved in becoming a physician. Medicine is a career that requires many years of preparation. Most people graduate college at the age of twenty-two and medical school at twenty-six (four years). Then after three years of internship, many physicians begin their career at age twenty-nine (Cordelia Strange). However, the training for some individuals can last until the physician's early to mid thirty’s. Some students volunteer at local hospital to get some training. The first two years of medical school students are usually in the laboratories and classrooms, taking classes such as anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology, physiology, medical ethics and the law. Obviously in most cases, this can delay marriage and starting a family. Some people begin their medical education after pursuing other careers, which can further delay the completion of their medical training. The salary range is $82,630 to $193,250 to $411,500 and more. Physicians are the highest average earning of any occupational group. You must decide early on if you are willing to dedicate the time to become a physician. This is not a decision to be made lightly.

The college I would like to attend is Stony Brook. It’s a huge campus located on Long Island's North Shore. The main academic areas are medicine, sports and so forth. It’s far from where I live but they have dorms on the campus. In Stony Brook you’ll discover the excellence of this university for example, the education, research environment, and not to mention it’s one of the best university teaching hospitals in the region. They offer excellent research and clinical opportunities. Their GPA requirement is a 2.00 and the SAT score should be 1700 or higher. I’m really looking forward into going to this school even though if it requires me to move. I must have an excellent average and take responsibility.

In conclusion, when I grow up my career plan is to help out people by being a physician. There are certain requirements and duties in order to be in the medical field. Being a physician involves taking patients medical history, discusses their health and do checkups. With a lot of effort, I know I can make it. Becoming a physician is a long, tough, and expensive process that can only be accomplished with great dedication.
