Friends Don't Chain Friends
Animal abuse is cruel and wrong. The same type of person who abuse animals are often people who are bullied, people who feel unempowered, or the sick type of person who enjoys or feels pleasure by beating animals.
One reason people abuse animals is they feel unempowered compared to everyone else, so they feel more empowered when they beat defenseless animals. Another reason people abuse animals is because of bulling at school, in public, or even at home. These people often take their anger out on animals. This makes bully victims feel in control of something in their lives.
There are some laws that are helping lower the rates of animal abuse but laws vary from state to state. In most cases several people have to file complaints in order for the police to come and check a home or facility. ASPCA is a major organization that promotes more laws for animal safety, and so far they have done a lot of good work, from making pet food more healthy to stopping puppy mills, and much more.
You can help stop animal abuse too by, supporting your local shelter or animal rescue organization, or calling your local law enforcement and reporting animal abusers. Law enforcement wouldn’t know about most instances of animal abuse if it wasn’t for concerned neighbors-that could be you. Help make a change.
