Patti LuPone is set to play Joanne in the Philharmonic’s concert staging of the musical Company in April. There will only be 3-4 shows. The role of Bobby will be played by Neil Patrick Harris. John Stewart will co-star as well. Patti LuPone recently was honored for her work in the theater by the Drama League. As Tony Award season is approaching, many shows are opening and running up there stage time for the ability to be nominated. With an upset at the Grammies, American Idiot won for the best musical recording, instead of Catherine Zeta Jones’s revival of A Little Night Music. Though the world of theater becomes more modern every day, the classics still withhold the great truth they always have.
