Artificial intelligence Technology: When Will It Be Too Much
Artificial intelligence (or A.I.) is defined as “The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence”(Oxford Languages). AI technology has advanced a lot in recent years, especially in China Where it is used in classrooms. The technology that they use in the classrooms is to see if children are focusing or not. It works by reading the brain waves recognizing patterns, and turning that information is relayed directly to the teacher and the parents. The information is also being sent out to other places but the parents, teachers, and students do not seem to have any worries about it. AI is a simulation of human intelligence with it picking up speed; Should we worry that it might replace humans or will it help them?
The technology works by putting on a headband (as explained above). The Headbands will relay your brain waves and signals to the teacher and parents, an LED lights up a different color signaling if you are focused, distracted, tired, or any other emotions. Some children are all for this, “Others are stressed out by it because even if they are Focused the LED does not light up as a focused color, and they are getting in trouble by their parents and teachers even though they are doing the work”(Under AI’s Watchful Eye, China Wants to Raise Smarter Students. THE WALL STREET JOURNAL). They were also able to turn the LED a different color and will not be focused just by knowing how to act focused.
AI technology can be defined as any Learning System, or imitation of the human brain. The way AI technology works is it collects data. that data is stored and built upon similar to how the brain stores data. So it's able to recognize things and recognize patterns. It has lots of applications in robotics, such as machines being able to understand how to do things and being able to be taught how to do things. This goes beyond just basic programming because programming is a set pattern or set action. You can change that action and it will just be another set action or actions. AI is different, it recognizes different patterns and recognizes how to carry them out in different ways, going as far as finding the most efficient way or ways.
This can be applied in many fields, such as the food industry, “TOMRA is using X-ray, NIR (Near Infra-Red) spectroscopy, LASER, cameras and a unique machine-learning algorithm to analyze different aspects of a fruit or a vegetable for sorting.”(How Artificial Intelligence Is Revolutionizing Food Processing Business). They are using infrared and x-ray to see if there's anything wrong with the food.
While AI is helping in the food industry one of the most common questions is will a robot take my job. The short answer is yes but it also opens up new job opportunities for you and everyone else.AI is no different than television and how “people think that it Killed the Radio Star, it didn't kill the Radio Star”(How Far is Too Far? The Age of A.I); it gave the Radio Star new opportunities and ways to present their views. Or in this case to close a gap in the workforce.
The trucking Workforce has a huge gap of employees and workers so the company tusimple has come up with a solution, AI-driven trucks. These trucks are still in the early stages of development but they have been Road-tested dancing to work. During these tests, there is still a person behind the wheel in case of emergency, but the issue seems to be the truck's not being overly Reckless but overly cautious. AI does not have what humans call Common Sense”(Will a robot take my job age of AI), while humans could see that you can clearly merge a truck might see a car coming from a long ways away and wait for that car to pass even though they could have gone. So this can be considered an AI induced problem meaning “to solve this problem you need to solve all the problems in AI and to solve all the problems in AI you need to solve this problem”(Will a robot take my job age of AI). So that's where the human test driver comes into play. They tell the truck that it could have gone and then that truck will collect the data and store it for next time.
Well, some AI programs are developed for self-driving trucks others can be developed for people with a variety of disabilities such as ALS. People at Google device an AI program four former NFL player Tim Shaw who has ALS. They use many phrases that Tim had previously said and are recording to understand what he is saying and put that into writing. so how it works is Tim will record tons and tons of phrases every single day( actually he's done over 400). and then they use that data to write a program that will recognize what he is saying and put that in the writing. where the AI comes in is recognizing speech outside of those phrases to create sentences outside of the phrase is that he's already recorded. This is Monumental for conversations and fostering understanding people with ALS.
Another way that AI helps people is in the robotics industry, the robot TALOS Is designed to help humans and unpredictable environments such as the home. The robot can walk, talk and even see things in 3D, this is very important for depth perception and being able to navigate. But even though it has all of these tools on its own they don't do much, the AI comes in by putting them together, and helps them interact with each other, and creates a system where it can help humans. One of those Maine points of TALOS is its ability to create the 3D world around it. This is important because it can map out its surroundings and understand where the human is where objects are and how not to run into them. Another way AI is used in this project is with integration and commands. If you teach the robot a command to grab a water bottle, It will know how to perform that command over and over again even if the water bottle is in a slightly different position higher, lower, left, or right because of the 3D Vision.
One of the biggest struggles with this project is the balance, humans naturally keep their balance, if you bend over your butt will stick out to keep you balanced, if you reach out you'll have to lean back a little bit to keep your balance or shift your legs to keep your balance. Robots Haven't developed that yet. yet again that is where hey AI will come in and help. One of the biggest misconceptions is that robots are more capable than they are
You may have seen robots that can do parkour. The only ones that can do that are The Valkyrie that was designed by NASA and there are only two of those. The second is the one from Boston Dynamics called the atlas. Those robots have very few sensors and do not move on their own. It is either a pre-scripted path or flat ground so there is little to no AI in them. Those robots’ main focus is the mechanical systems oh, The main difference is the valkyrie in Atlas is pushing the mechanical side, while TALOS is pushing the software side. that means that they are trying to use AI rather than prescript paths.
Some of the next steps of moving forward “Is to replace a lot of the factories with machines with sensors and Smart Systems in the using AI to work alongside humans”(Will a robot take my job age of AI). the keyword thingy alongside Not to replace but to work with humans to make things better more efficient and safer. In closing while some Americans may not like the feeling that AI might take their jobs, that is not the case, AI may replace some jobs and even replace dying Industries. It'll open up many new opportunities for many Americans. And together using AI we can create a better, more efficient, and safer Society.

Had good Insight on how China is using AI technology in schools to monitor if children
are focusing or not parents do not seem to mind or care where the information is going and no clear answer was given but a lot of children feel stressed because they feel the need to over Focus to make sure that the technology is not going to get them in trouble.

Artificial intelligence research project abstract
AI technology has advanced a lot in recent years and some people are worried about how far away I will go. The point of this paper is to answer that question. one of the places where AI has advanced the most is in China, more specifically classrooms. In certain classrooms, students are told to wear headbands that will depict how focused they are. This works by AI technology recognizing the brain waves of a focused person then Comparing those to the ones coming off of the child. a whole other side of AI is in the food industry, in the food industry they will use infrared and Laser cameras to inspect produce to make sure they're up to standards oh, they go as far as X rating the food to see if there's anything wrong. AI is also used to fill Workforce caps such as the trucking industry. The company Tusimple has created AI-driven trucks to attempt to fill the gap in the workforce. This is possibly a much safer alternative then person-driven trucks. To take a detour the main problem with AI is AI-induced problems; see if you solve the problem of a self-driving car with all the other problems and they are solved but to create a self-driving car you need to solve all the other AI problems. so it might be a little while before we see these fleets of trucks on the streets. It also helps in the medical field, specifically speech recognition for ALS patients. so people are worried about how far I will go and if it will replace their jobs, the answer is no while some jobs and Workforce will die out it'll also open up newer and safer alternatives. Those are alternatives or what will help our world move forward.
