Late for School
7:05. 7:05! If we leave now, we are barely going to make it to school on time! Why oh why must my brother be late all of the time? It drives me crazy. We get to school exactly on time, but that gives me no time at all to talk to my friends. He doesn't make any attempts to get ready faster even though my family and I have talked to him several times. He goes to bed before me so why can't he get out of bed at a reasonable time? Well, he does, but he gets back into bed after he showers. WHY!?!??! Why on Earth would you need to get back into bed when you are trying to leave? I was red with anger. I have to go and wake him up again because he genuinely falls back to sleep. Then ten minutes later he comes down for breakfast. We usually both head up at the same time to finish getting ready, but he takes so much longer to come back down.
I usually have my bag packed and the car started before he even gets downstairs, but we don't even leave then. He needs to take five minutes out of our already limited time to do his hair. No matter how much we talk to him about it, he never stops these egregious behaviors. It is hard to want to help him or do stuff for him when he does nothing to help himself, like wake up or get to school. The final and worst part is that we hit traffic right outside of the school, and there is no way to know how long you will be waiting there. But this all could be avoided. We once left a couple of minutes early and arrived easily without any traffic blocking our path, but as I said, this was all short-lived because he couldn't be bothered to do it again.
I can still talk to my friends a little before I get to class, which is the only reason I put up with him most of the time, but it still bothers me. He is a sociable person, so I thought he would also want to get to school early too, in order to talk to his friends, but I guess I was wrong. Besides all of this, we still end up making it to school on time anyway, no matter how close it is to the bell, which I am grateful for.
